IOI Group owns four palm oil refineries, three located in Malaysia and one in the Netherlands, with a combined annual refining capacity of 3,300,000 MT. Strategically located along major shipping routes with direct port access, the refineries produce palm and palm kernel oil fractions for export as well as feedstock for the Group’s downstream activities.
The energy-efficient modern refining plants convert crude palm oil to edible oils by removing impurities, odour, and non-glyceride lipids to produce refined bleached deodorised ("RBD") palm oil and palm kernel oil.
These Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil ("RSPO")-certified refineries also received the following accreditations from various food safety and quality bodies:
- ISO 9001:2000
- OHSAS 18001:1999
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point ("HACCP")
- Good Manufacturing Practice ("GMP")
