2021MayBSR (Business for Social Responsibility) facilitated our first virtual Sustainability Consultation Forum (SCF) on 18 May 2021 with the attendance of 40 of IOI Group’s (IOI) senior leadership and management team as well as 14 external participants from the RSPO, MPOCC, Jabatan Tenaga Kerja, international brands and IOI’s Sustainability Advisory Panel, where discussions were centred on efforts to address the current labour challenges that are faced by IOI and the palm oil sector in Malaysia with specific focuses on 1) Responsible Recruitment Practices, particularly in Peninsular Malaysia, and 2) Legalisation, particularly in Sabah.
2021MayIOI Corporation Berhad kicks off a climate risk assessment, which follows the Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) guidelines. Subsequently, interviews and workshops with key management personnel will be scheduled from June till September 2021, in line with our new reporting and disclosure frameworks with all our stakeholders.
2021MarchIOI Corporation Berhad (IOI) achieved a significant breakthrough in the dispute resolution for IOI Pelita Plantation Sdn Bhd’s land in Miri, Sarawak, where IOI Pelita will relinquish its interest over 5,000 hectares (ha) of native land, out of the total area of approximately 9,000 ha. The land will be declared a Native Communal Reserve by the Sarawak state government. The final dispute settlement will be discussed in the negotiation stage.
2021MarchIOI Corporation Berhad (IOI) has been identified as a Leader by Global Child Forum (GCF) for its efforts in addressing children’s rights in its business, based on GCF's latest study titled “The State of Children’s Rights and Business 2020 Southeast Asia” where it scored 8.1 out of 10 in the Food, Beverage & Personal Care sector. IOI was also recognised as a Top Mover with the highest overall increase in score amongst 232 corporations.
2020JuneDato’ Lee Yeow Chor, Group Managing Director & Chief Executive of IOI Corporation Berhad has been elected as the new Chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA), for the term 2020 to 2022.

2019JuneIOI Corporation Berhad (IOIC) Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor is redesignated as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive, while Tan Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui is redesignated as Independent Non-Executive Chairman, effective 1 July 2019 following the demise of IOIC Executive Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng.   
2019MayIOI Corporation Berhad (IOIC) successfully completed its Community Capacity Building Programme in Sarawak with all nine longhouses’ community leaders from the Tinjar area in Sarawak, allowing IOIC to move to the next stage of the IOI Pelita’s land dispute resolution process. 
2018OctoberIOI Corporation Berhad revamped its corporate website and joined the social media sphere, namely Instagram (@ioicorporation) and YouTube, to complement its existing LinkedIn account.
