Rambutan (nephelium lappaceum L.), is a tropical fruit that bears fruit within 4 years of planting. A seasonal fruit, it is harvested 2 seasons per year (June to August, and October to February) when it turns red or yellow in colour. Sagil Estate is currently growing the R 191 (Anak Sekolah) rambutan variety, which has a high demand due to its sweet, thick and firm flesh that does not stick to its seed. Small and round, it is red in colour, juicy and moderately rich in water. The average production is 5,000 to 6,000 fruits per tree.
