Appointment of Senior Management of IOI Properties Group Berhad

IOI Properties Group Berhad (“IOIPG”) has appointed Mr Cheah Wing Choong as Chief Operating Officer [“COO”] (Property Investments) with effect from 22 September 2014.

He is a Charted Surveyor with approximately 33 years of experience in property consultancy, property development, project and asset management, valuation and property management for a wide spectrum of commercial, residential and institutional properties. Prior to joining IOIP, he was the COO (Property Investments) of Sunway Group, a position he has held since 2009.

Mr Cheah holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Bath, England and a Bachelor’s Degree in Estate Management from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. He is a Member of the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (“FISM”), Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK and a registered valuer for Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents.

IOIPG has also appointed Mr Teh Chin Guan as COO (Property Development) and Ms Betty Lau as the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of the Group, with effect from 1 October 2014.

Mr Teh was the Property Director of IOIPG and oversaw the daily operations of the Group’s property developments in the Klang Valley. Mr Teh brings with him many years of experience from the property and construction industry. He has held various senior positions in Berjaya Land Bhd prior to joining the organisation in 2006. Mr Teh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Honours) from University Teknologi Malaysia and is a member of Harvard Club of Malaysia.

As the General Manager (Finance) of IOIPG, Ms Lau was responsible for the full spectrum of financial management including financial reporting function, and to steer the direction of financial operations of the Group. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“FCCA”), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (“ICSA”).

She has honed her financial management skills with companies in various industries in Malaysia, Singapore, Britain, United States and China. Prior to joining IOI Group in 2010, she was the Group Financial Controller of INTI International University/Laureate Educational Group.
