Following IOI Corporation Berhad’s (IOI) announcement dated 30 May 2022, we are pleased to announce that our joint venture in Sarawak, IOI Pelita Plantation Sdn Bhd (IOI Pelita), has received a letter dated 18 July 2022 from the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) informing that RSPO Complaints Panel (CP) has officially declared the closure of the complaint on the land dispute matter.

The CP is satisfied that an amicable resolution has been reached following the final settlement agreement signing ceremony between IOI Pelita and the eight local communities from the Tinjar area of Sarawak on 30 May 2022. The CP further commends IOI Pelita for following through with the resolution plan approved by the CP earlier.

IOI would like to express our sincere gratitude to RSPO CP and secretariat for their guidance and support in this long-standing matter, and will continue to observe the process diligently until the completion of the excision of the land and its return to the communities.
