In line with its Sustainability Policy Statement, IOI is pleased to announce the appointment of Tenaganita, a Malaysian non-governmental organisation that protects and promotes the rights of migrant workers, to review the current labour and working conditions in its plantations in Malaysia.
Since the introduction of its Sustainability Policy Statement, IOI has taken various proactive measures to uphold and respect human rights while striving to promote a safe, healthy and harmonious working environment.
The assessment by Tenaganita will seek to address any gaps in IOI’s labour policies and the working practices in its operations with the aim of upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Malaysian-ratified International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions.
The review and assessment will extend over a duration of nine months which will commence in October 2015.
