IOI Foundation (formerly known as Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng) has awarded RM323,000 in scholarships to 13 recipients, including 10 students and three current employees, across diverse educational institutions during the IOI Scholarship Award Ceremony 2024 held on 21 October 2024. These scholarships support studies in fields such as engineering, food science, agriculture and finance, with the aim of equipping the next generation of IOI leaders with the skills and expertise needed for seamless job placement after graduation.
IOI Corporation Berhad's (IOI) Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor, who also serves as a Trustee of IOI Foundation, and the Foundation’s Executive Director Datin Joanne Wong hosted the ceremony at IOI Headquarters in IOI Resort City. We welcomed 17 present and past scholars to the event filled with programme overview, ice-breaking activities, networking opportunities with peers and a dedicated talk titled ‘The Power of You’, designed to help our scholars gain insights into their personalities to leverage their strengths for future success in both their careers and personal development.
To date, IOI Foundation has awarded more than RM11.89 million worth of scholarships to 358 deserving students since inception, reflecting its strong commitment to supporting education and nurturing future talents. The Foundation plays a vital role in advancing the Group’s corporate social responsibilities through various programmes in education, community welfare, medical assistance and the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) subjects to drive positive socio-economic impacts for the local communities, while enriching the lives of the less fortunate.
In addition, IOI Foundation has successfully adopted 1,570 students through its Student Adoption Programme as of June 2024. Other impactful educational-related initiatives include the IOI Leadership Youth Camp, IOI Public Speaking Workshops and Competitions, and donations for upgrading school facilities, all of which aimed to inspire and empower young minds to build a brighter future for themselves and the community.
