International Women’s Day (IWD) is an opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements and empower all women and girls to create a better future. This year’s IWD theme, #EmbraceEquity, emphasises the importance of gender equity and inclusion in all aspects of society.

At IOI Corporation Berhad (IOI), we acknowledge, recognise, and celebrate all the different viewpoints and skills that our people bring into the workplace. In conjunction with International Women’s Day (IWD) 2023 on 8 March, we had a Group-wide celebration in Malaysia and Indonesia, where various specially-planned agendas towards women's equity, diversity, and inclusion were carried out.

On-site activities included knowledge sharing by IOI’s Women and Empowerment Committee, health awareness talks and health screening, self-defence demonstration, cake decoration contest, sports activities, photo contests, dance performances, and exhibitions. As a continuation of our social initiative called “Women and Digitalisation” that was launched during IWD 2022, we also organised various digital awareness talks such as digital education, cyber security, benefits of e-wallet, among others, to promote the digital inclusion of women and encourage our female employees to embrace the digital revolution.

IOI is committed to a world that is free of bias, gender stereotypes and discrimination, as we welcome more women into our organisation and offer immense opportunities to them in order to achieve positive change towards a sustainable future. Together, we will continue to see progress as an added value to our employees, customers, shareholders, and society.
