SCAM AND FRAUD NOTICE

UPDATE, AS AT 13 JUNE 2023

It has come to the attention of IOI Corporation Berhad (IOI) that unauthorised individuals or organisations are falsely using our IOI identity (such as misusing our company’s name, logo, senior management officers’ names and positions, etc.) in attempts to defraud members of the public via any unsolicited telecommunication or other unsolicited communications purportedly originating from, or implying an affiliation with IOI or any of our subsidiaries within our IOI Group of Companies.

Our name and logo are authorised trademarks of IOI, and we are aware of some unauthorised schemes by way of fake websites, scam mails, notices, emails, faxes, SMS (short message service), social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter, etc.) that are being circulated by certain parties without the authorisation of IOI.

Currently, we have presence on four (4) social media platforms, which are LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook alongside our corporate website.

We would like to strongly reiterate that we take all information regarding suspicious or fraudulent activities very seriously. Please note that any offer, benefit, content or instruction that is presented in misleading forms of communications impersonating IOI does not represent our organisation. We urge members of the public to be cautious and vigilant, and not fall victim to such scams. IOI does not call, email or text to ask you to divulge your personal or financial information. If any such entity fraudulently representing IOI Corporation Berhad or any of our subsidiaries within our IOI Group of Companies approaches you, refrain from responding to them or sharing any of your personal or financial information.  


It has come to our attention that unauthorised individuals or organisations are falsely using the “IOI Group” identity (such as misusing IOI Group’s name, logo, senior management officers’ name and position, etc.) in attempts to defraud members of the public via any unsolicited telecommunication or other unsolicited communications purportedly originating from, or implying an affiliation with IOI Group or any of our subsidiaries within our IOI Group of Companies.

We are aware of unauthorised schemes by way of fake website(s), scam mails, notices, emails, faxes, SMS (short message service), social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter, etc.) that are being circulated by certain parties. Some of the schemes include but are not limited to:

  1. fraudulently representing themselves as IOI Group’s agent, middleman, third-party individuals or companies or firms as representative;
  2. illegally conducting unauthorised solicitation of business designed to look real by fraudulently using IOI Group’s name or logo, and asking for earnest money or funds in order to register members of the public’s interest to participate in IOI-related projects;
  3. falsely using IOI Group’s name in an attempt to recruit on behalf of IOI Group and/or any of our subsidiaries within our IOI Group of Companies, asking you to transfer money for processing visas, work permits, residence cards, immigration costs, or recruiter fees, prior to entering into a contract of employment or receiving a job offer.
